Update 10-2-01
Hi,
As we consider whether it's wise to even begin thinking about slipping back to normal, maybe we should follow our former teacher Bernie O'Brien's lead. From Emily Kleinman-Schreiber, reunion organizer for the Class of '61: I must share this with you. Mr. O'Brien just called to tell me that he's putting a check in the mail to attend our reunion! The class of '61 is going to greet him with open arms. He also told me that a new baby was born into the family this week and he is being named after his son and son-in-law who died during our country's Sept. 11th tragedy. That's giving him a new positive focus. What a strong man he is.
The Class of 61's reunion is October 27th, in New York, and maybe that should answer the other question I haven't been wanting to bring up: Considering everything, do we all actually need to get together this spring? My present feeling is Why not? We're here today. But, as usual, I leave it to your vote.
Other news, if there can be other news:
From Barnet Kellman: I must say I'm impressed with the intelligence and articulateness of many of our fellows.
From Hy Rosov: Let's keep all the news... good news
From Barbara Blitfield Pech: I had the most delightful lunch and afternoon with Ellen Epstein and family. Needless to add, after 35 years, we both look the same. And after a while we convinced each other of this FACT!
From Stu Borman: My high school and grade school photo site is operational at: http://www.geocities.com/stu_borman/ Check it out when you get a chance. I'm sorry about the delay in getting these photos on the web. Some of them are not of the highest quality because they had to be converted from slides to prints and then scanned, and the quality of the images degraded somewhat in the process. But let me know what you think.
From Jean Cohen Oklan: I've finally gotten my photos scanned onto floppies and am sending them to you. I have more photos from 6th grade camp along with the
class photos that I will be mailing. Hope you can link them to our home page.
From Denise Frango Baxter, something I abridged from an earlier message: It has been very nice to hear about high school classmates and to find out how they are. I have been living in Boston since college. I work as a social worker, and love this city. Best regards to all.
And, finally, from me: I'm back on the West coast. Being based here, and having a full-time job in New York wasn't working, especially this year. So I'm home, with a reliable computer again. And I will try to post Jean's photos, as well as a batch from Barbara Blitfield Pech soon. And finally get around to adding cities to the home page. Meanwhile, a couple of new names have come in, so check the home page if you haven't recently. As usual, the link is:
