Our running totals:  So far 31 people have paid for their Saturday night dinners---that's a total of $1395 toward the projected $4000 cost.  Plus, we have $810 donated toward the hospitality suite.

A social note:  The Friday night gathering at the hotel is the kick-off to the reunion, with booze, and food, and everything but the ghost of J. James Bergen popping out of a cake.  Everyone coming to the reunion is encouraged to stop by.  It was never meant to be just an informal reception for the people staying at the hotel. 

Some news from Peggy Cooper Schwartz:  Just called Zelda Genin Kastin and told her about the reunion.  Hopefully, she'll be there.
       Also, in answer to Barnet's memory of singing Lollypop:  I remember singing the song "The Lollypop Tree" at the Forest Road graduation.  Valerie Nelson was the soloist.  (Not sure where Valerie Nelson is.  Would be nice to find her.)  Of course, there was the Chordette's pop hit "Lollypop" in the 50's -- so I'm not sure which one he was remembering.
       Finally, another thought on Mr. Maggio:  We had a student who had just arrived from Italy and could speak no English -- her name was Carla.  Mr. Maggio was the only one at South who could communicate with her.  He was a super guy.

News from Toni Rea:  Ed and Ginny Schmidt called me yesterday with word they're going to the April Reunion.

Some from Terri:  Mrs. Vincello declined, but said, "My best to the class of '65.  And thanks for remembering me."

And from Hy Rosov:  Last week I was notified that I won a national competition in silver sculpturing that brought with it a cash prize of $1,800.  If I can win a contest a month at that rate, I would be sitting pretty in retirement.

And Diane Fruzzetti:  I wanted to say that it has been quite fabulous and extremely interesting to become reacquainted with Allen Moss.  He seems to have an immense wealth of knowledge about the most incredible things, from toys to the most  interesting vacations.  You will not want to miss chatting with Allen, and I agree with him about the level of enthusiasm that seems to be building.  Exciting!  Off the charts?  I hope so.

Other continued technical problems:  dead e-mail addresses for Pat Devine and Denise Frango Baxter.  Again, if anyone knows Pat or Denise well, could you please call them?

An international glitch:  I'm having a Euro-Spam problem on ReunionClass65---someone clearly sold the screen name to some European advertisers.  And the more domain names I block, the more spam I seem to get.  And I don't want to see an unclothed Brittany performing acrobatics with a horse.  Let alone every morning.  I hope this problem hasn't filtered down to anyone else on the contact list.  I could rig ReunionClass65 so it would only receive mail from names on our list, but that wouldn't allow for new people to contact us, or for people changing their e-mail addresses to reach me---and that seems to happen frequently.  Anyway, please let me know if anyone else is hearing steadily from Brittany and Mr. Ed.
