Update 12-31-13

Hi,

Happy new year, of course.  I'm guessing some people are still celebrating.  A couple of fast questions and then an indirect tribute.

First, from Barbara Blitfield Pech, a mystery I think she and other people have tried to solve before:  A long overdue question that has met its time limit for an answer -- at least, my time limit.  The Valley Stream Mail Leaderused to run a weekly column about South High.  First names, gossip, hall events, who's who, what is what called?  It was named "The Southern Snooper" and was anonymously signed by "Snoopy."  I always had a theory that the '65 years were written either by Terri Donahue and/or Linda Passaro.  It was just a very uneducated guess, except that they always seemed to be around the people whose names and groups made it into the column.  Have we run past the statute of limitations for someone to claim that she or he was Snoopy?

Next, an unfortunately less pleasant question that was asked a while ago, and I forgot to pass on.  Does anyone remember when Rich McDonald died and what the circumstances were?

Finally, the happier, indirect tribute.  Two days ago, Booker Gibson posted a simple note on Facebook and almost immediately got 30 replies.  They came from a cross-section of the students he taught over the years and just offer more proof of how fondly he's remembered.
